Make a scrolling text ticker

Updated 17 September 2026

Scrolling Text moves a line of copy across the screen at a constant speed — ideal for opening hours, offers or announcements along the bottom of a display.

  1. Select your text and choose Animate → Scrolling Text.
  2. Choose Right → Left or Left → Right.
  3. Set Speed (px/s). The default is 150 pixels per second; higher is faster. Test readability rather than picking a number.
  4. Set Gap (px) — the empty space before the text comes round again. The default is 100 pixels.
  5. Set Delay and Loop. Loop 0 repeats continuously for as long as the page plays. Preview a full pass to make sure the message can be read.
Scrolling Text uses a constant pixels-per-second pace and a gap between passes.

Long and short text scroll at the same speed, so longer messages need more time for a complete pass. If viewers can't finish reading it, lower the speed, shorten the message or give the page more time.
